After a series of inexplicable Sonic the Hedgehog games, (Sonic with a gun! Were-hog! Give him a sword!) SEGA is taking the much-maligned franchise back to its roots. The just-announced Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 returns Sonic to a two dimensional world, with a little bit of 3D flair. Think New Super Mario Bros.

It’s something I did not really see coming, but seems to have been circulating in video game forums. Nintendo’s Wii is set to release support for Netflix sometime this Spring. Unlike the 360 however, the Wii support for streaming Netflix will require a media disc to be inserted during play.
